The applicants will have to qualify West Bengal Joint Entrance (JEE) or AIEEE. 90% of the entrants are absorbed from the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. Selection is with high cut off percentile. 10% students are admitted from AIEEE select list, as per Govt. guidelines selected by the Central Selection Board.

Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be a citizen of India and should have passed the H.S. (10+2) or it equivalent examination. The general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biological Sciences taken together and at least 30 % marks in English. In addition, candidates must secure at least pass marks in the subjects individually including vernacular (or any other fifth subject) as mentioned below:
Pharmacy: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biological Sciences, English and vernacular (or any other fifth subject).
Age restriction: applicants shall at least be 17 years of age on 31st December in the year of admission.
• Applicant will be in good mental and physical health.
• Candidate will have to qualify at the JEE, on the year of admission, or AIEEE for admission in B.Pharm Colleges
• Candidates will be required to submit a Migration certificate if he/she passes qualifying examinations from a board other than WBCHS or a University other than WBUT. If the certificate is not submitted within the date specified by the University, the provisional admission of the candidate will stand automatically cancelled.
The candidate appearing in the qualifying examination 2011, will be allowed to sit for JEE 2011 provisionally and their admission if merit listed, will be subject to satisfying the minimum requirements of eligibility as specified above.

Lateral Entry
Candidates who have passed final D. Pharm Examination and qualified in Joint Entrance Examination for lateral entry are admitted through Central Selection Board in Second year of the 4-year course. Lateral entry for diploma holders securing minimum 50% marks in Diploma Course conducted by polytechnics under Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of West Bengal or examination conducted by Health Department, Govt. of West Bengal, will be allowed in the second year 1st semester level directly. Seats in addition to the sanctioned intake at first year level, limited to a maximum of 20% shall be reserved for such students
